The Leonardo Da Vinci tarot was a treat to the eyes, though the image of the High Priestess was a bit startling and took a while to get use to.

The cardstock used for this deck was very firm and of good cardstock and has a glossy finish that reminded me of the painting gloss that are placed on oil canvases when they are done. At an angle, it looks almost like you are shuffling pieces of canvas itself.

For the backing, the spirit of Da Vinci is wonderfully captured with the mirror image of a woman whom many will recognize from the Queen of Wands of the deck. This evokes of how Da Vinci would write in backwards and just gives one a haunting prescence of the Great Master.

The colors are very muted and has a candlelit appearance to them; They remind me of sepia photographs, where it\'s in the shadows that one finds hidden answers.

For a simple breaking in of the deck, a three card reading was done, and to be honest, this is really a deck that would be recommended more for intermediate to advance readers.

On a personal level, the meanings of the tarot card did not add up to that of the little white book included and for some, this may cause confusion. This is a deck that is based alot more on symbolism and intuition. For a professional, with the exception of the high priestess and maybe the 8 of chalice, this is a very calming deck to use to read with.

Someone with an understanding of Da Vinci\'s work, maybe with an art background, or with the understanding of symbolism would find this to be a great deck to work with, however for a beginner, the images could be slightly confusing.

For the art aficionado, this is a must have deck. Da Vinci\'s work is broken down and use in stunning and imaginative ways. For those who read Tarot on a regular basis,

The deck prompts a desire to understand the thoughts and creativity of Leonardo Da Vinci and a deeper understanding of what inspire this genius.

Overall, this is a lovely deck and on a personal level a must have for the tarot collection. To read with, I wouldn\'t recommend a beginner to get this deck right off until they have a basic understanding of Tarot.

The creator(s) did a wonderful job of bringing Da Vinci\'s work to Tarot, and it\'s well worth adding this to anyone\'s tarot collection or to even give as a gift to those who enjoy Da Vinci\'s works.
